The Greater Washington Area Cake Club (GWACC)
The Greater Washington Area Cake Club (GWACC) was formed in 1976 to bring together people interested in the art of cake decorating and related fields for the exchange of information and ideas. Guests are encouraged and welcomed to come to one meeting at no cost or obligation. Membership dues are $15 per year. A typical gathering consists of a short business meeting, followed by refreshments and a demonstration of some cake decorating and/or sugar art technique. Activities include monthly donation of cakes to area nursing homes, decorating gingerbread houses for St. Ann's Infant and Maternity Home at Christmas time, annual donations of home baked cookies to the Ronald McDonalds House in Washington, DC. Members share recipes, cooking hints, patterns for cakes cake show information, sugar art classes and other information deemed valuable.
